This gauge is a vast improvement over the De Walt height indicator. Once calibrated, just dial in the thickness you require and go. I wasn’t so keen on fixing the digital gauge to the existing ruler with double sided tape, as should the digital gauge have a fault, then I couldn’t revert back to the original gauge. I spent a couple of hours folding up a mounting bracket that replaced the ruler and allowed the digital gauge to be fixed using matching cap screws and nuts.
